How To Make Potato Bread Pakoda

Bread Pakoda is a tasty Indian snack, which is popular in every part of India. Generally, bread pakora is prepared with deep oil fry. We have tried to prepare it with very less oil by shallow frying.  Believe me, this is really tasty.

Potato Bread Pakoda Recipe

Ingredients

  • Brown bread / Whole wheat bread/ Maida bread
  • Oil ( for shallow fry )
  • 2 medium size Boiled Potatoes
  • 1 medium size Chopped Onion
  • 1 Chopped Green Chili
  • 1 cup Besan/ Gram flour ( 1 cup = 240 ml )
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste ( 1 tbsp = 14-15 gm )
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder ( 1 tsp = 4-5 gm )
  • 1 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1 tsp Chat Masala
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Instructions For Making Potato Stuffing
    • In a bowl take 2 boiled potatoes and peel them.
    • Add chopped onion, green chilly and 1/2tsp salt.
    • Mash them and mix it well.
    • Now potato stuffing is ready, you can keep it aside.
  • Instruction For Making Outer Coating
    • At first, take 1 cup besan/ gram flour in a bowl.
    • Then add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala powder, chat masala, 1tsp salt, and ¾ cup water.
    • Mix all these ingredients perfectly by adding water.
    • Make the batter not too thick or not too thin.
  • Instruction for shallow frying bread with potato stuffing
    • Take one bread slices and cut it in to diagonally shape.
    • I have used brown bread here.
    • Spread potato stuffing on each slice of bread only one side.
    • Potato stuffing should be thin not very thick.
    • Now coat stuffed bread into the batter on all side.
    • Meanwhile, heat the pan with 2 tbsp oil.
    • Shallow fry on medium flame till it turns in to golden brown on both side of the base.
    • Your bread Pakoda is ready now.
    • Serve hot bread Pakoda with tomato sauce or green chutney.

Instruction for shallow frying bread with potato stuffing
