  • 1 cup Maida/All purpose flour ( 1 cup = 240 ml )
  • 1/2 cup Powder Sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp custard powder/ cornstarch ( 1tbsp = 14-15 gm )
  • 3/4 cup orange juice (blend 2 large orange)
  • 1/4 cup curd
  • 1 tsp orange zest ( 1 tsp = 4-5 gm )
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/4 cup dry fruits
  • 1/4 cup tutti frutti for garnishing


  • Instructions For Making Orange Cake
    • In a pressure cooker put 1 ½ cup salt and place one cooker rack on it.
    • Remove the gasket and whistle, then close the lid.
    • Leave it for 5-10 mint on low flame for preheating the cooker.
    • Meantime in a bowl sieve 1 cup maida, 1 ½ tbsp custard powder or cornstarch, 1tsp baking powder, and ½ tsp baking soda.
    • Now in another bowl whisk ¼ cup curd and ½ cup sugar till the sugar completely dissolve.
    • then add ¼ cup oil, whisk it again.
    • For making fresh orange juice you have to Blend 2 oranges by removing the seeds and strain the orange juice.
    • Pour this fresh orange juice into the curd, sugar and oil mixture. Mix very well.
    • Add 1tsp orange zest into the sieved mixture and mix it.
    • Mix little quantity of sieved mixture into the curd mixture by using the fold and cut method. Keep in mind that there should be no lumps during the mixing. Don’t do the over mix.
    • You can add ¼ cup dry fruits at these steps.
    • Put a butter paper at the bottom of the pan.
    • Pour the batter into the cake pan & spread some tutti frutti on the batter for decorating.
    • Settle the cake batter and Place the cake pan into the cooker.
    • Leave it for 50 minutes on low flame.
    • Check with any knife or skew stick if it is baked.
    • Cool the cake for 15 minutes at room temperature and remove the butter paper.
    • Now serve this flavorful orange cake on any occasion.


  • You can add more orange zest for getting more orange flavor.
  • During the mixing, if the cake batter is thick then you can add ¼ tsp warm water.
